Meet our Leadership Team
Paul Lavelle, CMSgt, USAF, (Ret), MSC
Founder and President
Chief Master Sergeant Paul Lavelle, USAF (Ret) is the Founder and President of Operation Restored Warrior and a Drop Zone Facilitator. Serving for 26 years on active duty as a medic, Paul held several major commands and senior medical executive leadership positions throughout his military career, culminating his career as a senior enlisted representative at the United States Air Force Academy, where he retired in 2001.
He is also the recipient of several personal and unit awards, decorations and medals. Paul holds a bachelor’s degree in Human Services and a master’s degree in Counseling, having graduated summa cum laude from the University of Phoenix. Like his military experience, Paul’s personal story uniquely prepared him for his work with Operation Restored Warrior. Snowbound after dropping off a friend at Wild at Heart men’s conference, Paul found himself sitting in on sessions, and a short while later, on the side of a mountain, he invited Jesus into his life. About a year later, Paul began a 4-year stint working with bestselling author John Eldredge and the Ransomed Heart Ministry Team as a member of their team, during which time he developed a deep desire to see healing and freedom come to his fellow military warrior. In 2008, Paul founded ORW with the assistance and dedication of fellow military veterans from each of the services, with whom he has helped heal hundreds of our nation’s warriors and their families.
REV Jordan Fulton, SGT, US Army, (Ret)
Executive Director of Operations & Drop Zone Lead
Reverend Jordan Fulton, Sgt., US Army, (Ret), is the Executive Director of Operations and a Drop Zone Lead for Operation Restored Warrior. Jordan served as an Infantryman at the 101st Airborne Air Assault Division and at the 3rd Infantry Regiment, The Old Guard. Jordan was a 240B gunner during his time at the 101st, and was a casket team leader responsible for rendering final honors at burials for both fallen active duty soldiers and veterans while standing stationed at The Old Guard.
Jordan is the recipient of several personal and unit awards, decorations, and medals, including a Purple Heart for combat injuries. Jordan attended an ORW Drop Zone looking to rekindle a relationship with Jesus and his wife after realizing how emotionally withdrawn and distant he had become. With diagnoses of PTSD, depression, and anxiety, he realized that medication(s) could not fix these problems. Through the Drop Zone experience and having a powerful encounter with Jesus, his heart was restored and healed in some deep places. Since this experience, Jordan has been propelled forward and he has not looked back. Jordan is married to an amazing woman, Sarah, who is his partner in raising their 5 kids together. Jordan has a passion for family, fitness, and single-origin coffee. He is a graduate of Elim Bible Institute & College with a diploma in Pastoral Ministry and is ordained through Elim Fellowship. He also has a Bachelor’s degree in Sports Management: Health and Wellness and a Master’s degree in Exercise Science, both from California University of Pennsylvania.
Timothy Harting, SPC, US Army
Director, Drop Zone Operations & Drop Zone Facilitator.
Tim is the Director of Drop Zone Operations and a Drop Zone Facilitator for Operation Restored Warrior. He served as a military police officer from 1999 to 2003 with two deployments, one peacekeeping mission in Kosovo and the other combat operations with Operation Enduring Freedom in Afghanistan. Tim deployed with the 108th Military Police Company (ABN/AASLT) to Afghanistan in December of 2001 in support of Operation Enduring Freedom as part of Task Force Rakkasan.
He returned stateside in July of 2002 and was separated from service in 2003 due to a back injury suffered from a night Airborne training operation. For years, Tim struggled to find peace in his life. He deeply believed that he should have died on the battlefield. He hated that he was able to live when so many brothers and sisters had had their lives taken by the enemy. Tim looked for answers through counseling, medications, exercise, alcohol, and anything that others said would help but found no relief. After years of depression that led him to frequent thoughts of suicide, he was introduced to Operation Restored Warrior by close friends. They lent Tim’s wife a documentary called, “Holy Ghost: Reborn,” and Tim saw firsthand what ORW was doing for military veterans. The next evening, Tim applied for DropZone, and he had his warrior heart restored and healed in July 2017. Since his DropZone, Tim has been living in freedom from the things that once held him captive, such as his depression, anxiety, and guilt, and he lives each day on mission to help others find freedom too. His marriage is stronger than it has ever been, and his daughters have the father they want and need. With Tim’s healed heart, he wakes up each day with joy in knowing who he truly is and that he has has what it takes to overcome any challenges he encounters.
Executive Chef Tom Walker is a Master Chef who has been running the Food Ministry for Operation Restored Warrior since its inception in the fall of 2008. After several years as an Executive Chef for one of the world’s largest hotel chains, he left a life of wandering far from God, never to look back again and soon after, Jesus got a hold of Tom’s heart.
The discovery of the sanctity of food and the intimacy at the “Table” has evolved into something that must truly be experienced. Tom will always tell you it’s not about the food, rather what happens in the breaking of bread – it is truly biblical. As a young soldier who experienced Tom’s food at an ORW Drop Zone once said, “I don’t know what heaven is going to be like, but now I do know what the food will be like.” This is a sentiment shared by all of the men who come through the ORW Drop Zone and that is especially true once they have experienced Tom’s heart for cooking and serving our veterans.
Tom lives in Edwards, Colorado with his wife Sarah and twin sons Ryan and Tyler. He is an avid fly fisherman and loves the mountains of Colorado and the beaches of southern California where he grew up in the 60’s.

After Daniel’s time in service, his biggest struggles were with PTSD and physical pain. At the end of his rope, he reached out to his former Platoon Sergeant who had just attended an ORW Drop Zone himself. His friend shared how Jesus saved his life and could do the same for Daniel. After hearing the excitement and freedom in his friend’s voice on that phone call, Daniel decided he wanted to go. After years of isolation and building walls to keep others at a distance, his marriage began to take a turn for the worse and Rob knew something needed to change or he would lose his wife. Rob attended a Big Daddy Weave concert and heard about the mission of ORW. He felt God nudge him to reach out and attend a Drop Zone so that he could experience the healing needed to save himself and his family.
Rob’s healing experience at his Drop Zone revealed to him that God has great plans for him. The vision and confidence Jesus brought led him to start his own underground construction company that serves major utility companies in and around the Chicago area. Along with this, Rob desires to serve fellow veterans through his involvement in Operation Restored Warrior.
As a restored warrior, Rob enjoys making the most of his time with his wife and kids as well as living out adventure by competing in Spartan races and triathlons. His life has changed for the better since his Drop Zone and he looks forward to what God has in store for the future.
David Body, PFC, Army National Guard
Drop Zone Facilitator
David Body is a Drop Zone facilitator at Operation Restored Warrior and is currently serving as an infantryman for the Washington Army National Guard assigned to the 81st Stryker Brigade Combat Team. Outside of his military service, David is an arboriculturist for the City of Seattle Department of Transportation.
David grew up living a Christian lifestyle but never truly experienced a deep relationship with Jesus. For many years, he lived knowing Jesus from his head but not from his heart. After marriage and starting a family, the brokenness of David’s heart was revealed in every aspect of his life. The truth came to light and it nearly cost him his marriage. His addictions led him to a cycle of shame that paralyzed him in fear and robbed him of genuine connection with his wife and children. Years and years of self effort and searching for relief led David to finding absolutely nothing, until he met Jesus through Operation Restored Warrior.
Jesus restored David’s heart and healed his life at his Drop Zone by bringing to light the many areas of his life he tried to hide the dark. David is able to connect with his family at a deep, intimate level like never before. His life has been rescued and his marriage saved and he no longer walks in shame but as a free man with transparency and integrity.
David’s desire to reach others so that they can experience the same freedom he has led him to serve with Operation Restored Warrior.

Since attending his Drop Zone in September of 2018, his desire to serve in ministry reached new levels and his focus was directed by God to become a ORW facilitator and assist his fellow veterans. T. Michael Elrod, Commander, USAF/USN, USNR, (Ret)
Drop Zone Facilitator
Mike Elrod is a Drop Zone Facilitator for Operation Restored Warrior and a retired military aviator having served 28 years collectively in the U.S. Air Force, U.S. Navy, and U.S. Navy Reserve. Mike’s time in the Air Force & Navy involved service to Pacific, Asian, and European theatres as well as support in Operations Iraqi Freedom and Enduring Freedom. He was also a test pilot for Northrop Aircraft. In addition to his military service, Mike also retired with 21 years of service as a Captain at Northwest Airlines.
The events and experiences Mike faced during his long military career led him to experience nightmares that lasted 35 years. He battled to overcome but never knew what he was dealing with and how to handle it. The symptoms of his PTSD included significant anxiety and anger which affected relationships with friends and family and stole the joy from his life. Mike searched for help through multiple VA counseling programs, but never found relief.
One day a good friend and ORW alum reached out to Mike and shared Operation Restored Warrior with him. His friend shared how ORW helped him overcome the struggles in his life and he believed Mike would find the same result. After a few months of consideration, Mike registered and attended his Drop Zone in December of 2012.
Mike’s life was completely transformed in 5 days and for the first time in several years, Mike experienced a good night’s sleep free from nightmares. He is now walking as a restored warrior free from pain because of what Jesus did for him. Because of what Mike received from Jesus at his Drop Zone, his heart has grown for his family and he desires to help other veterans receive freedom.

Jamie found true freedom there in surrendering all of it to Jesus and has been walking as a restored warrior ever since.
As a free man who has found his purpose and identity, Jamie actively engages in bringing restoration to his marriage and the relationships with his children. Kevin Wilcox, SGT, USMC
Drop Zone Facilitator
Kevin Wilcox is a Drop Zone facilitator at Operation Restored Warrior and a United States Marine Corps veteran having served from 2004 to 2009 . He served as a drone operator on two deployments to Fallujah, Iraq in support of Operation Iraqi Freedom. Kevin has over three hundred hours and more than two hundred combat missions as a drone pilot in support of contingency operations. He is a successful business owner taking what he learned in the Marine Corps and flying drones in the public sector.
After Kevin’s service in combat, his battle with PTSD led him to trying to cope using alcohol. This battle continued after separation from service and affected his daily life including tearing apart the relationship between him and his wife. In an effort to find help, Kevin met with a therapist who told him about ORW and encouraged him to attend a Drop Zone.
During Kevin’s Drop Zone, he found healing he never thought possible and met Jesus in a way he never has before. Restoration began at his Drop Zone and still continues as he walks as a free warrior today with Jesus leading the way. He got his life back and lives as the man God calls him to be, and the husband and father his wife and children need.
Since Jesus restored his heart at his Drop Zone, Kevin has made it his mission to help other veterans who are struggling in life like he once did by serving with Operation Restored Warrior. In addition to serving with ORW, Kevin partners with a non profit in his local area that helps build motorcycles for disabled veterans.
